The Fabled Pour

Country

Slovenia

I have one sourced drink connected to Slovenia. The label on each card says how: where it began, what the country is known for, what people drink there, or where the origin is disputed.

Drinks of Slovenia

Signature drinks and regional ones, with the evidence behind each. A drink marked non-alcoholic has no alcohol in the traditional serve.

    Špricer

    PopularSignature drink

Chilled dry white wine and mineral water, traditionally 1 to 1, in a 2 dl glass with an ice cube and a leaf of mint or basil or a slice of seasonal fruit. Wine is poured first, then the water, so they mix without stirring. A splash of elder syrup sweetens it.

Slovenian news portal 24ur calls it a legendary summer refresher. The same article credits a wine producer with using its wine for spritzers since 1968, which is the producer's own account and is treated as unverified.

Made with: dry white wine, mineral water, optional elderflower syrup.
