Country
Israel
I have one sourced drink connected to Israel. The label on each card says how: where it began, what the country is known for, what people drink there, or where the origin is disputed.
Drinks of Israel
Signature drinks and regional ones, with the evidence behind each. A drink marked non-alcoholic has no alcohol in the traditional serve.

Arak and Grapefruit
Tel Aviv beaches and across Israel
PopularRegional drink
Anise-flavored arak mixed with chilled grapefruit juice over ice. One recipe uses 4 oz juice to 2 oz arak and tops it with a basil leaf, and other writers add mint. Wikipedia notes arak is also drunk with water, which turns it milky white.
A Saveur excerpt calls the arak and grapefruit blend a popular refresher on the beaches of Tel Aviv, and a travel writer calls arak Israel's national drink, commonly served with grapefruit juice. Jamie Geller calls an arak, grapefruit and sage cocktail the traditional drink of the streets of Israel. No fetched source dates the pairing.
Made with: arak, grapefruit juice, ice, basil or mint leaf.
